PM Blanchard Consulting was established in January 2014, when I decided to become an independent financial consultant.
During my 35-year banking career, I built and led specialist teams in charge of project, trade, and more generally asset-based/structured finance.
I was involved in more than a thousand transactions across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Oceania and Africa representing aggregate project costs in excess of US$80 billion, and have acted in various senior capacities:
- Financial advisor
- Debt arranger
- Board member/equity investor
These activities were conducted with leading corporates and financial investors involved in industries requiring large amounts of capital expenditure, with a strong focus on:
- Energy
- Social infrastructure
- Transport
In my last banking job, the project finance business I led was ranked, over the 2003-2012 period, N°9 worldwide among the global mandated lead arrangers of project finance loans, with 388 transactions closed for a total amount of US$38 billion (source: Thomson Reuters, Project Finance International’s Roll of Honor, 500th Edition Special Report, March 2013).
Over the last six years, as an independent financial consultant, my top clients have been the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank. My consulting activity has covered a large number of countries, mostly across Asia-Pacific and Africa.
